The First Annual conference on

Critical Issues in Child and Adolescent Mental Health

Mental health issues in children and youth are complex.  Family issues, developmental issues, peer relationships, substance use- all complicate our understanding and ability to treat this population.  Education efforts are underway to teach physicians, therapists, educators, social service workers, and law enforcement officers how to better identify and intervene so children and youth do not have to suffer unnecessarily, are safe from harm from others and themselves, and improve function in school, at home, and in their communities.

Several areas are not as well known- professionals, systems, and families struggle with how to begin addressing these issues.  LGBTQI issues, Bullying, Eating Disorders, Integrative Medicine, Legal issues involving Pornography and Cyber-bullying, and Child Sex Trafficking may not be as common as depression and ADHD, but the potential harm of each is serious and costly. Most mental health providers do not know how to identify these problems, how to treat these problems and don’t know who they should be collaborating with to provide the best and most effective care.

This conference will provide expert, specialized knowledge about these issues.  Attendees will not just learn about the mental health science involved but also the social science, the family impact, and the collaborative methods necessary to bring about positive outcomes.  Physicians, psychologists, social workers, therapists, nurses, probation officers, and educators will all benefit from these presentations and the opportunities to discuss collaboration, networking, and advocacy for children and youth impacted by these Critical Issues.

Please note, registration INCLUDES free parking, CMEs (6) or CEUs (6), and food and beverages..

all for $50!
