Committee Opportunities
- Mission and Vision Committee - Include your voice in further developing the Mission and Vision of the San Diego Chapter of CAMFT.
- Community Committee - Act as a liaison to various community organizations. Help promote and facilitate our community events such as walks, fairs, volunteer work, and festivals.
*Note: Committee Members can be Clinical (Licensed) or Pre-Licensed Members of the Chapter. Committee Members must also be Members of both CAMFT and the San Diego Chapter of CAMFT.

Board of Directors Chair Job Descriptions
|
President
Clinical, Licensed Member of San Diego CAMFT (3 year term)
The President shall, subject to the control of the board of directors, generally supervise, direct and control the business of the chapter. They shall preside over all meetings of the chapter and at all meetings of the board of directors. They shall submit in writing an annual report of the activities of the Chapter to the board of this organization.
Specific duties:
- Preside at all meetings of the board and membership.
- Meet with committee chairs to discuss programs and activities and oversee and evaluate the activities of committees.
- Act in a firm, competent, tactful and just manner, permitting full discussion on all debatable motions, yet neutral on controversial matters. The President must respect the opinion of each individual; yet see that each decision is carried out in a harmonious atmosphere.
- Acts as the primary spokesperson for the chapter.
- Prepare, in conjunction with the Secretary, an agenda prior to all meetings, adhere to the agenda as it may be amended and open and close meetings in a timely manner.
- Make sure that written minutes of all meetings are published expeditiously.
- Oversee the activities of committees, making sure appropriate reports and minutes are prepared and voted on by the board as necessary.
- Make arrangements, or oversee the making of arrangements, for all meetings and/or functions of the chapter.
- Arrive at all meetings in a timely manner to see that sites are prepared for the meetings. Be available to the entire membership, especially new members and guests. Display enthusiasm and support for all chapter activities.
- Arrange for, or oversee the arrangements for, speakers for meetings and events. In addition, acknowledge speaker appearances with letters of thanks on behalf of the chapter.
- Maintain close contact with the Executive Committee, Board of Directors and Committee Chairs.
- Oversee the activities of the Secretary and Treasurer making sure that responsibilities are adhered to.
- Serve as an ex-officio member of all committees.
- The President will transfer all material pertaining to the role as President to the newly elected President and indoctrinate the newly elected President as to the role of the position.

Secretary
Clinical, Licensed Member of San Diego CAMFT (2 year term)
Specific duties: - Board Appreciation events and gifts, notes, meeting reminders, updating board records (passwords, descriptions, documentation, head shots, final review of documentation, track committees and committee members, keep meeting on track.

Treasurer
Clinical, Licensed Member of San Diego CAMFT (2 year term)
Specific duties: - The Treasurer is the custodian of the money of the association and is responsible for collecting, depositing in a timely manner, and disbursing the funds of the association. The Treasurer shall get appropriate authorizations for all financial transactions, either as established in the bylaws or by adopted motion.
- The Treasurer shall collect all dues according to appropriate procedures for dues payment, notify of delinquencies, and provide receipts to dues paying members.
- The Treasurer shall maintain the bank account(s) of the association as separate fund(s) and be responsible for signature cards and the drafting of all disbursements.
- The Treasurer shall arrange for auditing of the books and records of the association on a regular basis.
- The Treasurer shall chair the budget committee, assisting in the preparation of the annual budget for the association.
- The Treasurer shall maintain, in a timely manner, all financial books and records of the association and prepare financial reports on a regular basis including a balance sheet and income and expense statement. Such reports are to show the status of all accounts including the balance at the beginning of the period, all receipts, all disbursements and the balance at the ending of the period.
- The Treasurer shall regularly compare actual costs and income to budgeted costs and income and recommend adjustments in spending and/or the budget as necessary.
- The Treasurer shall transfer all material pertaining to the office to the newly elected Treasurer and indoctrinate the newly elected Treasurer as to the role of the position.

Membership Chair
Clinical, Licensed Member of San Diego CAMFT (2 year term)
The Membership Chair manages the San Diego Chapter membership, and participates in roles such as Hospitality, Member Recruitment, and Member Advocate. Specific duties: - Approving new members, managing membership renewals, archiving profiles whose membership has lapsed
- Responding to questions about membership application and fees
- Maintaining the membership roster, providing membership verification, recruiting new members
- Coordinating 1-2 membership events per year using Wild Apricot

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI) Chair

Pre-License Chair Clinical, Licensed Member of San Diego CAMFT (2 year term)
Support position for pre-licensed members providing guidance to their licensure. Specific duties: - Pre-licensed chair duties include submission of monthly email, hosting monthly social hour, scheduling events that provide education and navigation for testing and other learning experiences in the field.
- Pre-licensed chair should be up to date with BBS requirements.
- Also assists with all other events in correlation to the board and supporting licensed members in conjunction to associates.

Sponsorship Chair
Clinical, Licensed Member of San Diego CAMFT (2 year term)
Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with individuals, organizations, and industry stakeholders to support the goals and objectives of their organization. The Sponsorship Chair identifies activities and events for sponsorship opportunities, including State conferences, training events, newsletter, and website advertisements. Specific duties:
- Maintain an accurate list of potential and current sponsorship opportunities
- Maintain working relationships with current and potential sponsors
- Track contracts and commitments
- Call, email, and/or mail confirmation to sponsorships once contracts are completed
- Receive company logos from all appropriate sponsors
- Submit list of sponsors, including logos where applicable, to Communication Chair
- Solicit giveaway basket(s) and donations
- Assign sponsor benefits and organize sponsor appreciation events
- Keep updated Sponsorship information on SD CAMFT website
- Create a strategy, in partnership with the Board, to reach sponsorship goals
Other information:
- Strategic Planning: Developing a strategic plan for networking initiatives aligned with the organization's objectives and target audience.
- Relationship Building: Establishing and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, vendors, industry leaders, and potential collaborators.
- Membership Engagement: Engaging with members of professional associations, industry groups, and other networking communities to expand the organization's network and visibility.
- Partnership Development: Identifying and cultivating strategic partnerships and alliances with organizations that share similar goals or can provide mutual benefits.
- Table at community mental health events(swag provided): San Diego Pride, NAMI Walk, Center for Community Solutions
- Past networking opportunities: SD Pride, NAMI walk, Annual Tea & Tonic Event at Hotel Del Coronado.
- Attend all board meetings. Can miss up to 2 meetings per year.

Education Chair
Clinical, Licensed Member of San Diego CAMFT (2 year term)
Specific duties:

The Education Chair creates the annual events calendar, plans at least 4 educational events in coordination with the Board, secures venue and catering needs, registers participants at events, greets attendees, introduces speakers, maintains sign-in sheets, hands out and collects evaluations, distributes CEU certificates, recruits prospective presenters, tracks and obtains complete presenter forms, posts scheduled events and event outcomes on website in coordination with the Communication Chair while maintaining CEPA compliance, identifies event budget in coordination with Treasurer, represents SD CAMFT at events and maintains working relationships with presenters. Works closely with CEU and Sponsorship Chairs.

Communications/Marketing Chair
Clinical, Licensed Member of San Diego CAMFT (2 year term)
Specific duties:

The Communication Chair manages website content and creation through Wild Apricot, social media profiles and content (Facebook), posts scheduled events on website while maintaining CEPA marketing compliance, distributes CEPA compliant emails to members about events in coordination with the Education and CE Chairs, supports the Board in email and newsletter content distribution, and posts current and recent events on website.
The Communication Chair must be proficient in creating marketing materials and various electronic databases and platforms.

- Social Media Liasion
- Community Engagement: Interacting with followers, responding to comments and messages, and fostering positive relationships with the online community.
- Monitoring and Analysis: Monitoring social media channels for trends, mentions, and feedback, and analyzing data to measure the effectiveness of social media campaigns.
- Strategy Development: Collaborating with marketing and communication teams to develop social media strategies aligned with organizational goals and target audience preferences.
- Brand Representation: Ensuring consistent brand messaging and voice across all social media channels, while also representing the organization professionally and authentically.
- Partnership and Collaboration: Identifying opportunities for partnerships and collaborations with influencers, brands, and organizations to expand reach and engagement.
- Crisis Management: Handling negative feedback or crises effectively and professionally, and addressing issues in a timely manner to maintain the organization's reputation.
- Stay Updated: Keeping abreast of social media trends, algorithm changes, and best practices to continuously improve social media presence and performance.

CE Chair
Clinical, Licensed Member of San Diego CAMFT (2 year term)
Specific duties:

The CEU Chair is responsible for the oversight, implementation, and administration of the chapter's CEPA compliance and programming within the chapter and when collaborating with other organizations.
The CEU Chair will serve as an extension of the Education Chair and provide support to this board position on their duties as appropriate and necessary.

Community Outreach Chair
Clinical, Licensed Member of San Diego CAMFT (2 year term)
The Community Outreach Chair is responsible for establishing and maintaining a community outreach effort for the Chapter.
Specific duties:

The Community Outreach Chair builds and maintains relationships with local universities, employers, programs, and affiliates to support Membership, Sponsorship, and Education Chairs; increases awareness of and educates other community organizations about SD CAMFT; represents the Chapter at community events; and acts as a liaison with local organizations.
