DSM 5 – Key Changes and Practical Applications, presented by Steve Koh, MD, MPH, MBA

Please join the San Diego Chapter of California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) and our esteemed presenter, Steve Koh MD, MPH, MBA, for an exciting educational event at the beautiful Marina Village on Saturday, May 9th, from 9 am to 4pm. 

 

    Dr. Koh is the Director of the Community Psychiatry Program at UCSD, Medical Director of the Outpatient Psychiatric Services at UCSD in Hillcrest, Consulting Faculty at the Balboa Naval Hospital as well as Past President of the San Diego Psychiatric Society. Dr Koh will explain the reasoning behind many of the changes from DSM-IV to DSM 5, highlighting key differences, providing detailed examples, and walking attendees through the practical application of the DSM 5.  All mental health clinicians and nurse practitioners are welcome. 6 CEUs will be provided for MFTs and LCSWs. 

 

After this presentation, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the reasoning behind changes from DSM-IV-TR to DSM 5.
  • Understand the developmental background of DSM 5.
  • Understand key differences between DSM-IV-TR and DSM 5.
  • Understand practical applications of DSM 5 vis-à-vis DSM-IV-TR.
