COURSE DESCRIPTION
A child is best understood in the context of their environment and family system.
This presentation will look at methods of assessment and treatment that consider the whole family and that particularly resource parents, instead of focusing only on the child.
EDUCATIONAL GOALS AND LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Therapists who take this course will be able to:
- Describe two reasons why child may be an identified client
- Name one benefit to working with parents / caregivers in a Family System instead of a child
- Describe one way that play therapy differs with a child from a Family Systems model
- Describe three kinds of play therapy approaches that take a systems perspective

This course meets the qualifications for 2 hours of continuing education credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs and LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Partial credit will not be awarded.
Live event participants must be present for the entire length of the workshop to be awarded credit. Participants will not be given CEU credit if they are more than 15 minutes late and/or do not stay for the entire length of the workshop.
