Writing Group for Therapists

Group Details 

Participants are invited to experience journal writing as a communal practice for self-care, connection, and community. This writing group is focused on reducing stress, lowering the risk for burnout, self-reflection, and for emotional, physical, psychological and spiritual health, and to help balance caring for others by caring for yourself.

We will meet once a month on Friday mornings from 10-11:30 to create a sense of community and support through the power of journal writing. We will write, read aloud, listen deeply and bear witness to each other. In this process we make meaning through our stories bringing together who we are and who we are becoming. 

Meet Your Facilitator 

My name is Gail Braverman and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I am a certified facilitator for Writing Through Transitions and the Amherst Writers & Artists method. I have facilitated groups for over 35 years. I am a Storycatcher. My definition of a Storycatcher is someone who values stories of the human experience, holds the space to help others find insight, is curious, and encourages participants to write freely, engage with their writing and write from a deep place of knowing. I will provide prompts such as poems, writings, and images as a way of stimulating the writing.
