Psychotherapist Job Description
Falcone Institute is a non-residential psychoeducational practice that develops and implements individualized, holistic skill-based therapeutic programs for children and families with learning, social, emotional, and other challenges in a safe, positive, and heart-centered environment. We transform lives by shifting hopelessness into hope through teaching clients to ‘learn how to learn.’
We welcome an experienced psychotherapist who is comfortable with and enthusiastic about serving children, adolescents, young adults, and families. One who is willing and skilled in addressing therapeutic and related educational and social issues among this school-age population – which frequently includes learning and language processing disorders, neurodevelopmental delays, anxiety, depression, trauma, attachment-issues, ADHD, parent-child conflicts, and behavioral concerns. Thus, this individual must embrace this unique opportunity to conduct therapy using a variety of techniques and approaches – including using a client’s academic content as a “backdoor” therapeutic tool to foster insight and skill development.
The ideal candidate is highly self-aware, understands the effect of trauma on clients, and demonstrates the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a therapeutic team. We expect the candidate to demonstrate healthy, compassionate boundaries, cultural/diversity sensitivity, and remain personally centered and coherent when addressing trauma and crisis-related issues.
The position provides an opportunity for the therapist to integrate his/her expertise and skill set within Falcone Institute’s synergistic blend of psychotherapeutic, educational, neurocognitive, and other therapeutic modalities. We hire self-aware, open-minded, and resilient individuals who wish to undergo personal transformation while serving and making a positive, lasting difference.
